The Aveleda Group has been owned by the same family, the Guedes Family, for 5 generations. Currently, the company is managed by two descendants of the 5th generation, António Azevedo Guedes and Martim Guedes. Since its foundation in 1870, the passion for wine, the sustainable treatment of the environment, biodiversity and attention to detail continue to be the company’s guiding principles. These principles are at the root of the production of quality wines and the development of brands such as Aveleda, Casal Garcia, Adega Velha, Quinta Vale D. Maria, Quinta D’Aguieira, Villa Alvor, Mandriola de Lisboa and 12 Knights. The Group is currently present in 5 Portuguese wine regions, the Douro Region, the Vinho Verde Region, the Bairrada Region, the Algarve Region and the Lisbon Region, and is the largest producer and exporter of Vinho Verde in Portugal, present in more than 80 countries worldwide.
